Art, for me, is the very air I breathe, a fundamental way of living and expressing myself, touching others on a level beyond words. It's the only field where true freedom and acceptance reside, and I embraced it because, truly, I couldn't do otherwise.My classical training at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts gave me a strong foundation, earning both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees. But my artistic curiosity extended beyond Azerbaijan's borders. I've been fortunate to attend summer art courses in places like Edinburgh and Italy, learning different techniques from stained glass to book illustration, constantly expanding my visual vocabulary.

 

While my heritage is deeply rooted in the rich artistic traditions of Azerbaijan—you might see echoes of Orientalism, ornamentalism, and even miniature painting in my work—my vision is resolutely contemporary, infused with a surreal nature that often evokes the feminine perspective.My art is a reflection of my inner soul, a narrative born from the complexities of life. I've showcased my art in Shanghai, Paris, Moscow, and recently, I was incredibly honored to be invited to exhibit at the Biennale Arte 2022 in Venice, Italy, and had a painting selected for exhibition at the De Young Museum in San Francisco in 2023.Currently, I reside and paint here in the United States, which has had a significant impact on the commercial side of my career. I'm learning more about art marketing and hope to bring that knowledge back to benefit fine arts education in Azerbaijan. Despite being away, Baku, with its golden, red, and azure hues, remains a constant source of inspiration and joy for me.

 

My mother, Kimia, is also a key inspiration, and my artist name "Kim" is a tribute to her.I also believe strongly in giving back, and I've been involved in projects teaching art to children with autism syndrome, as well as curating exhibitions and giving master classes.
