Miette Braive (1916-2000) was a Belgian modern artist known for her abstract and cubist works, particularly those influenced by her mentor and contemporary, French artist André Lhote. Born Emilie Braive, she was nicknamed "Miette" (French for "crumb") by Lhote because of her small stature. She moved to Paris in the mid-1940s and worked alongside Lhote for two decades, producing art with bold colors and styles ranging from abstract figures to non-objective abstracts.
