We take great pride in acquiring and presenting exceptional examples of fine European and American figurative paintings and sculpture, conceived and executed between 1890-1950. We also proud to offer selections from some of today's contemporary modern masters. Our gallery is located in the heart of West Hollywood's Avenues of Art and Design district at 511 North Robertson Boulevard just south of Melrose. Our recently expanded gallery, has now allowed greater access to our extensive inventory of original vintage paintings, fine works on paper, and fine original sculpture. It is with pleasure that we present the contemporary west coast premier of paintings by American artist Chuck Connelly. Connellyrose through the ranks in the 1980's as a favorite within the American art world, with promise of becoming one of the next inspiring heroes of art and American art culture as a master class painter. In 1989 the paintings of Chuck Connelly were prominently featured in Martin Scorsese's film, "New York Stories: Life Lessons," the artist played by Nick Nolte." Our first exposure to the paintings of Chuck Connelly was in the 2008 Jeff Stimmel film for HBO, which has now been nominated for an Emmy Award. The film included much footage of the darkest side of Chuck Connelly, but when the focus became his paintings the sun came right out. The paintings were incredible, executed in myriad styles, textures and pallets, each demonstrating an extremely high and consistent level of intellect, quality and talent. Captivated, and intent on bringing to the world's attention this stunning body of work, our efforts now culminate with the following premier retrospective exhibition of paintings acquired directly from the artist's private collection.
