Fritz Schwaderer (1901, American/German) Noted German Expressionist artist Fritz Schwaderer, was classically schooled in fine art in Germany in the early-mid 1920's. Schwaderer's paintings were exhibited alongside such artists as Beckman, Nolde, Kandinsky and Jawlensky. Schwaderer settled in California where he worked and exhibited until his death in 1974. Dody in the Afternoon is the artist's portrait of actress Dody Goodman, painted in bright vivid hues, signed, c.1955. Schwaderer's paintings always reflected his German Expressionist roots.
